Dallas Police Go Bald for Cancer Research Article Several members of the Dallas Police have joined forces to help in the fight against childhood cancer with a “Brave the Shave” event. Deputy Chief James Scott Walton formed a team with his fellow officers in hopes to raise money for cancer research. “ I think we really have a desire to be there for people who are at their most vulnerable. We have dedicated our lives to standing between these people and those that would try to take advantage of them. Raising funds for childhood cancer research is no different ,” commented Walton. Working with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Dallas Police rallied together May 28 th at the Trinity Hall Irish Pub and Restaurant. Their goal was $2,500, but they smashed that amount by raising $5,980. Their latest tweet praises the officers involved while giving thanks to those who have donated.
